Find Your Place with Us

We believe God calls every Christian to grow in their faith and be connected to their church family. It is through the small group opportunities where CCUMC encourages and equips people to be transformed as they are challenged to learn more about Christ, experience God’s presence and serve as faithful disciples. Please browse through the various Ministries offered by CCUMC -- there is a place for you here!

CCUMC is a congregation devoted to the love and well being of children and their families.  We encourage family worship, discipleship and intergenerational connections!  The mission of Cedar Creek United Methodist Church is to gather children in love and help them grow in the Word of God so they will be equipped to go into the world as disciples of Christ.
Come join the fun and activities at CCUMC - let's grow in Christ together!

The CCUMC Youth program is intended, to the greatest extent possible, to be a program for our Youth, by our Youth, guided by the Greatest Commandment and Matthew 25:35-36 upon which the group's Mission Statement is based. "35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."

Mission Statement:  As members of the Cedar Creek United Methodist Church Youth Group, it is our purpose to grow and share our faith, develop Christian relationships, serve our church and our community, and become disciples for Christ while having fun and making great memories. The mission statement and list of goals are used to guide where the group's time and resources are to be dedicated - loving God, loving our neighbors and the belief that faith without works is dead.

Relationship with the Church & Parents:  The Youth Group enjoys an exceptional relationship with the Cedar Creek UMC whose members provide generous support for the group that is greatly appreciated by the members.  Dedicated, selfless support by parents have been at the core of all activities and without that, the Youth Group could not have accomplished as much as we did.

If you know of any youth who are interested in serving, growing and celebrating in the name of Jesus Christ, please don’t hesitate to send them our way.

United Methodist Men shall be a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spirituality and to seek daily his will.

  • Ministry to Men:  The General Commission on Men exists to declare the centrality of Christ in every man's life. Men's ministry leads to the spiritual growth of men and effective discipleship. This purpose is served as men are called to model the servant leadership of Jesus Christ.

  • Scouting:  The General Commission provides resources and support for civic youth-serving agencies and scouting ministries.

  • Strength for Service:  This powerful daily devotional has provided words of comfort and of encouragement for the men and women of the armed forces, civil service and public servants since 1942. Learn more about how this book has touched lives and how you can participate in the effort to underwrite the publication and distribution of one million copies of this book.

Helping men grow in Christ, so others may know Christ.

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The meetings of the Cedar Creek Women are continuing to be busy with various projects. The circles are small, but we try to have projects of interest for everyone.

United Methodist Women is a mission based organization throughout the Methodist Church.  All female members of the congregation are automatically members and are welcome at all functions. Missions are a central focus of the United Methodist Women.

The vision of Senior Adult Ministry at CCUMC is to provide an atmosphere to develop our minds, bodies & souls to be faithful servants to Jesus Christ.

  • To recognize the importance of Christian fellowship and spiritual growth as we grow older.

  • To keep our minds & bodies active and alert by participating in study, work, and leisure.

  • To be a friend to someone and ease their worries by showing a loving concern for one another.

  • To reach out and be of service to our church and in our community.

Are you called to serve in a listening ministry?  Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in congregations that use the Stephen Series system.

Stephen Ministry congregations equip and empower lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting. Please contact Pastor Wesley or Verda Turnbo for more information.

We believe that God calls every Christian to grow in their faith and be connected to their church family. Through these educational opportunities, we encourage and equip people to be transformed as they are challenged to learn more about Christ, experience God’s presence and serve as faithful disciples. We offer many opportunities all ages and stages of life.

Mission Statement: Our education mission at Cedar Creek United Methodist Church is to provide the best guidance and instruction in the word of God for children and adults, thereby enabling Christian growth.

We, as human beings, were created to worship and praise our God. Music is one of those gifts God has given to us that we can give back to Him. With gratefulness and joy we lift our songs and voices to our Lord Jesus Christ. For many, music lifts their spirits and souls to express their love and commitment to serving our God and the community at large. It allows us to express our emotions whether it is jubilant rejoicing or mournful sadness. The listener and performer are drawn closer to God’s presence. To that end, the music program at Cedar Creek UMC encourages believers to utilize their gifts in music to honor and serve the Lord.

As presenters of music, whether a choir, instrumentalist, or soloist, we are worship leaders. The music presented at CCUMC is God-centered, biblical, expressive of our love and need for Christ, meaningful, and delivered to the best of our ability.

The Music Department of Cedar Creek UMC enables musicians of all types to express their faith through God’s gift of music. From choral anthems to the latest contemporary Christian music, CCUMC's Music Department provides many diverse and excellent ways of praising God. The Music Department is made up of vocal and instrumental groups of all ages for children, youth and adults. CCUMC is blessed with many talented musicians as well as an outstanding staff of musicians who lead and direct our various musical groups.  The staff is committed to serving Christ by producing music at a highest level of excellence.

We welcome those interested in becoming a part of this great organization and look forward to getting to know you and sharing in the gift of music in worship.

Our Purpose Statement: To proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ, through prayerful acts of service within our community, our nation and our world.

James 5:16 tells us that "When a believing person prays, great things happen!"

The power of prayer is tremendous...will you pray with us, and for us, and help us reach out to our community in ways and means never experienced before?  I know great things will happen.

The Nurture Ministries Team leads CCUMC’s ministries of faith formation and membership care.  We lead in facilitating opportunities to grow in God by caring for and supporting one another through Bible study, small groups, prayer and visitation. Some of our functions include:

  • Sunday Greeters - stand at the front and back doors to greet church attendees for both services.

  • Coordinate meal delivery to church members who are "shut in" or ill.

  • Mail "we miss you" cards out to those members who have not attended services for many Sundays, "congratulation" cards to those families who have a new baby, and "condolence" cards to those who have suffered a loss.

  • Coordinate annual church directory.

  • Visit "shut-ins".

  • Coordinate/Prepare the monthly breakfast calendar.

  • Host "new member" luncheons twice a year.

This group is for Cedar Creek United Methodist Church Prayer Warriors. Our mission is to provide a means for prayer requests to be forwarded to others. Prayers are communications with God. Colossians 1:3-14, Paul describes how we should pray for others.
--Be thankful for their faith and changed lives. (1:3)
--Ask God to he'p them know what He wants them to do. (1:9)
--Ask God to give them deep spiritual understanding. (1:9)
--Ask God to help them live for Him. (1:10)
--Ask God to give them more knowledge of Himself. (1:10)
--Ask God to give them strength for endurance. (1:11)
--Ask God to fill them with joy, strength and thankfulness. (1:11)

Trinity Travelers is Chapter 21 of the United Methodist Campers (NUMC) which has chapters in 8 states.  Membership is open to anyone who believes in Christ and has a love for the outdoors.  Campouts are held each month, and activities include playing games, worshipping at area churches, shopping and eating (lots of eating).  Membership is open to anyone who is a believer and who likes to fellowship in the great outdoors with fellow believers.  Don't have a "rig"?  Not to worry -- come on down for a day or a meal -- we'd love to have you visit!  Many of the campgrounds have cabins available for those who want to attend.

Almost 10 years ago a small group of enthusiastic campers from CCUMC organized Trinity Travelers, Chapter 21 of National United Methodist Campers. Since then, the group has grown from 5 member families from CCUMC to 28 families from 8 different churches and 5 denominations, with CCUMC still having the largest number of members. Each month we journey to a campground within 100 miles of Bastrop to play, worship, fellowship, sight see and EAT. We have “rigs” of all sizes, and the campgrounds we attend usually have cabins for those without a camper. Campouts are officially Thursday through Sunday morning, but members are free to come and go as their schedules allow. Those remaining on Sunday morning attend a local church before breaking camp.

Trinity Travelers is open to anyone who loves the Lord and who loves to camp! Many of the parks have cabin rentals available, so you don’t even need a “rig” to join us! We love to have visitors come and dine with us!

Yes!! You can help stamp out weeds at CCUMC! Lawn teams are forming and we need your help. If you can volunteer only one Saturday morning, every 8 weeks, (that’s only six times per year), please give me a call. Nobody I know of can guarantee to be available every assigned Saturday, but with enough volunteers, it can be easily covered, or you can put in your time some other day of that week. Please consider helping this ministry at CCUMC. Volunteer teams save CCUMC $2,000 to $3000 per year in landscaping maintenance costs, which can be better spent in our other ministries that make disciples for Christ. It also helps our Church grow by presenting the visual statement to the public that our Church takes care of the facilities that God has given us for His glory.
