Trinity Travelers is Chapter 21 of the United Methodist Campers (NUMC) which has chapters in 8 states. Membership is open to anyone who believes in Christ and has a love for the outdoors.
Campouts are held each month, and activities include playing games, worshipping at area churches, shopping and eating (ots of eating). Membership is open to anyone who is a believer and who likes to fellowship in the great outdoors with fellow believers. Don't have a "rig"? Not to worry -- come on down for a day or a meal -- we'd love to have you visit! Many of the campgrounds have cabins available for those who want to attend.
Where they've been:
The February trip to Brazos Valley RV Resort in Caldwell was a huge
success! A total of 11 rigs shared meals, fellowship, and activities at
this new area for our group. Henry Tindell and his cooking assistants
outdid themselves on the Hobo Stew! We ate at several restaurants in the
area and toured the Royalty Pecan Farm just
a few miles down the road.
There will be plenty of things to
do when we camp at the I35 RV Park in Waco on March 8-12, we may even
visit the silos! The park offers a free breakfast (just tip the cooks)
and there are lots of museums, antique
stores, hiking opportunities and the Cameron Park Zoo, plus kolaches in West, and the Heritage Farms site in Elm Mott.
Where they're going: Our schedule for 2017 is as follows:
I35 RV Park, Waco
April 6-9 Leisure RV Park, Fentress
May 3-7 National NUMC Rally, Bandera
June 8-11 Llano City RV Park, LLano
July 13-16 Longhorn RV Park, Neiderwald
August 10-13 Colorado Landing RV Park. La Grange
September 7-10 Cedar Bend Corps of Engineers Park, Lake Belton
October 4-8 All Texas Round-up, Gladewater
November 9-12 Miller Crossing RV Park, Johnson Cit
We welcome any and all campers, regardless of the size or type of “rig”. Join us for a campout, or just a meal! Whether you are an old hand at camping, or are a novice at rving, we would love to have you visit with us – for a day, an evening or an entire campout. If you are interested in finding out more about our group, contact one of the CCUMC families: The Laundys, Whittles, Esslers, Tindels, Rezniceks, Calverts, or Waverings. We would love to have you join us! Ed Laundy's contact info is phone # 512-718-2435, email email@example.com
About the Travelers: Almost 10 years ago a small group of enthusiastic campers from CCUMC organized Trinity Travelers, Chapter 21 of National United Methodist Campers. Since then, the group has grown from 5 member families from CCUMC to 28 families from 8 different churches and 5 denominations, with CCUMC still having the largest number of members. Each month we journey to a campground within 100 miles of Bastrop to play, worship, fellowship, sight see and EAT. We have “rigs” of all sizes, and the campgrounds we attend usually have cabins for those without a camper. Campouts are officially Thursday through Sunday morning, but members are free to come and go as their schedules allow. Those remaining on Sunday morning attend a local church before breaking camp.
Trinity Travelers is open to anyone who loves the Lord and who loves to camp! Many of the parks have cabin rentals available, so you don’t even need a “rig” to join us! We love to have visitors come and dine with us!
