Trinity Travelers is Chapter 21 of the United Methodist Campers which has chapters in 8 states.  Campouts are held each month, and activities include playing games, worshipping at area churches, shopping and eating (ots of eating).  Membership is open to anyone who is a believer and who likes to fellowship in the great outdoors with fellow believers.  Don't have a "rig"?  Not to worry -- come on down for a day or a meal -- we'd love to have you visit!  Many of the campgrounds have cabins available for those who want to attend.  If you would like to know more about the group, contact Wagon Master Ed Laundy at 247-5545 or edlaundy@earthlink.net

Where They've Been:  

For the 5th or 6th year in a row, members of the Trinity Travelers camping group traveled with Santa to Lockhart for the Christmas Party for the residents of the Golden Age Assisted Living facility and their families. The Travelers took instruments, jingle bells and smiling faces as they led the large group in singing Christmas Carols. Gift bags prepared by the Travelers were distributed to the residents, and pictures were taken with Santa Claus.

Where They're Going:  

The 2012 camping schedule for the Travelers begins January 12-15 at Miller Creek RV Resort in Johnson City. This resort has excellent facilities, with a great clubhouse and a huge firepit!

There may even be water in the creek this year! Members always enjoy side trips into Johnson City, Blanco or Fredericksburg, and a group lunch at a local restaurant on Friday. Cold weather usually means a big pot of Hobo Stew on Friday night!

February 9-12 we will try out a new campground for the group – Spring Branch RV Resort in Spring, TX.embers of the Trinity Travelers plan to get out of the heat of central Texas and head to Corpus Christi September 8th through 11th. They will be putting up their “tents” at Colonia Del Rey RV Resort in Corpus. There’s always a lot of fun to be had on the annual trip to the coast – fishing, sight seeing, a shrimp boil and lots of singing.

The Travelers will have a busy summer! May of the members will be doing personal travel in addition to the group campouts.  August 11-14 we will return to Pecan Park in San Marcos. This is always a favorite. In September we travel to the coast to Colonia Del Rey RV Park in Corpus (we may surprise Stan on Sunday morning!). In October, members of all 5 chapters in Texas will gather at I-35 RV Park in Waco for the Texas Round-Up. In November we will return to Big Chief RV Resort on the shores of Lake Buchanan in Burnet. Hope we get some rain before then, or there won’t be much left of the Lake!

Trinity Travelers is open to anyone who loves the Lord and who loves to camp! Many of the parks have cabin rentals available, so you don’t even need a “rig” to join us!
