The first nine pilot churches in the Transformation Program began their work with Don Nations of DNA Coaching on October 9, 2006. District Superintendents are identifying 25 churches in each of their districts to be part of this transformation process beginning in January 2007.

Churches that participate in the transformation project must demonstrate readiness to participate whole heartedly in the process with a willingness to make changes necessary for transformation.

As part of the process, churches will have a coach/consultant who walks beside them in the three year process and provides them with a ministry plan unique to their context that will result in growth and vitality. Training for clergy and lay leadership will be provided by the coach/consultant as well as through the Centers of Congregational, Clergy, and Missional Excellence.
