Our Purpose Statement: The
purpose of the Outreach Team is to carry the Good News of Jesus
Christ to those in our Community and Beyond, through prayerful
Action, as we Seek to Follow God's will.
Food Ministries: Every month
the Food Pantry coordinators, Peggy Eastabrook and Elma
Campbell, select an item for our church to donate to the Bastrop
County Emergency Food Pantry. At the end of the month, the food
is taken to Bastrop for distribution. Last year we collected
almost 1000 items. Call or email the church office for the
current month's item, or just bring any non-perishable item to
the church and leave it in the "Blessing Bin" in the church
foyer. Monthly distributions by Manna Ministry serve the Community by
providing good food at an affordable price
Be sure to look at the "Manna Food Ministry"
page for additional ways to purchase or give food to those who
need it. Each month, the team under the leadership of Geri and
Joe Gambino, prepare menus, coordinate volunteers and collect
donations and payments for boxes full of quality food products.
There are no limitations on who can purchase the boxes, and
there are "special" items offered each month, as well. Regular
boxes are $25 each, and special items are about $18 per box.

Plans are in the works for a program in which parents area wide
get together and learn from each other with the help of trained
facilitators. The Methodist Healthcare Ministries out of San
Antonio has come to our church and trained the first facilitator
team to help with this important ministry. Nancy Laundy say she
is ready to accept participants from CCUMC in the program. Just
email or call the church office to sign up or for more
information.
The Parents' Night Out will held every 3rd Friday for couples
who need time with each other away from the kids for awhile. The
babysitting service will include fun things for older children
to do. Contact Nancy Laundy or the Church Office or send an
email to them to reserve a space.
