A word from Bishop Dorff: "The central Texas
fires have been devastating to several of our communities and church
families. The communities of Bastrop, Cedar Creek, and the Steiner
housing development in Austin have been particularly devastated. We are
deeply grateful for the prayers and other expressions of support. Our
churches and pastors are hard at work providing shelter and support for
those left homeless. Our God is present in these communities and renewal
will occur."
If you would like to make a donation to UMCOR please
use advance number 901670 and mark: Texas Wildfires

How can you help? Prayer is a definite first response to this madness.
Second, aid in the form of the advertised requests (food, water, personal hygiene items, pillows, blankets, air mattresses, sheets) delivered to the emergency shelters, Bastrop Middle School and Bastrop Christian Outreach Center. Capital Area Food Bank is sending food items to the shelters along with local donations.
Donations of food, beverages and personal hygiene supplies for the firefighters and other emergency volunteers can be directed to the Bastrop Convention Center in Bastrop and the Memorial Football Stadium on Hwy 21.
Our church leaders will be working with other community leaders in assessing needs, and how the needs can be met, over the coming days. UMCOR will be part of that process, and we will funnel the info to you as fast as we can. Please share this info with all your email contacts. Blessings, and prayers, May God keep you all safe.

CCUMC Disaster Response
Across our great nation many folks are displaced by natural disasters, recent and deadly and life altering disasters. How are we in the CCUMC family called to assist these faraway neighbors, family and friends?
Bishop Schnase and UMCOR (United Methodist Committee On Relief) have
put out a call requesting aid. The fastest and
best way to send aid is through financial
support. Your donations may be made payable to CCUMC with a
notation "UMCOR". Our Administrative personnel will pool and
forward all donations on to UMCOR. Or you may
make a donation online and directly thru UMCOR
at the website listed in this message.
If you seek to do something a little more physical, please contact
Ginger and Brent Salone, our CCUMC Disaster Response
Coordinators, at (512)

Methodist Church in responding to the devastation caused by the
tornadoes in Alabama, Missouri and elsewhere, and the floods in
the Mississippi valley is with monetary gifts
to UMCOR. They have established an advance

in, almost daily, news accounts of the
different disasters that have hit our brothers
and sisters this spring.
Thank you, and God bless you for your response,
